1 hour in the life of a Banksy
That is interesting that people are taking pictures with it... its an attraction; its not just accepted, its embraced.

I can understand why some may want to destroy his works. Its so accepted that it ceases having any meaning or relevance; its like a college student wearing a Che Guevara t-shirt. The only thing the piece says now is "I'm a piece by Banksy, I'm quirky and harmless".

The Daily Show 9/4/08: Sarah Palin - Vet This!
hah, laughed when he mouthed 'San Francisco' and shook his head... randomness...

the last minute is great; "... the most corrosive element of American Society" ... I hadn't seen that clip of Rudy laughing at Obama's post-college community service job... pretty fucked up...

McCain Adviser: Palin Doesn't Need to be Interviewed
This is very curious.

'A one sided conversation is all the American's want; Palin will talk at you, not with you, so relax and take your seat.'

americans don't need government run healthcare, energy, education assistance, or job training--we need freedom. with freedom, we will have all this and more.

The mortgage crisis is a direct result of deregulation of that industry; it has crippled our economy. And because the government now won't let these businesses fail we're now bailing out companies that had all the freedom they asked for.

The reality is that businesses are successful when they make money for their shareholders. There is no incentive for private health companies to provide preventative medicine, or provide healthcare to poor people or people who are already sick or injured; its much more lucrative to outwit a person who is hospitalized by not paying everything in the agreement unless called-out on it. There is no incentive for energy companies to do anything more than what is legally required in order to provide power for those who can pay, and no sane reason for them to discourage excess use of power. ...

I was about to continue, but you get where I'm going with this. Money allows choices, like where and how well you live, eat, shop, ... Right now money also impacts how well your kids can be educated (and how much they can then earn) and how good your healthcare can be (and how healthy you are again impacts your financial status). I fail to see the increase in freedom to be had by letting the market leave good people uneducated and sick, unless 'freedom' to you is anarchy.

Republicans Plan To Disenfranchise Active Duty Military.
@jwalther420 - its a new post on his youtube blog, but it looks like you are correct (http://thinkprogress.org/2007/05/30/griffin-resigns/)

@SDGumdamX - You make a good point; maybe if they are currently deployed but expecting to be on leave at their residence on the Naval Air Station to vote, they may not have planned on casting an absentee ballot. These individuals might miss a postcard testing whether their address is correct, and might then be swept from the voter roll without them knowing.

Protest Banners Disrupt McCain's Acceptance Speech
>> ^doremifa:
According to Fox News, the "green screen" behind him is the lawn of a the Walter Reed Jr. High School in North Hollywood.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlEkTAF2r3M

I heard this on NPR as well.

Apparently someone typed in 'Walter Reed' in an video search engine and took the first pretty one that came up (not realizing it was a Junior High School and not the military hospital) and obviously didn't bother to ask if they could use this public school's image as a backdrop to a political convention talk.

NPR also reported that their use of "Barracuda" by the band Heart was done without asking permission (though the GOP did pay a blanket licensing fee to ASCAP), and the band and their label have filed a 'cease and desist' order against the Republican Party. Heart also said the use was "ironic" because the term 'barracuda' in the song represents the soulless music business of the 70's.

Grizzled Third Party Candidate May Steal Support From McCain
Really excellent job by this old dude.

Olbermann Apologizes For Airing Republican 911 Video
Did this clip remind anyone else of the intro to 'Voltron'?.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9C2YLVaSBw

You can basically replace the word 'Voltron' with 'McCain' ... same superhero, fear-sploitation idea.

Obama : "I've Been Called Worse On The Basketball Court"
"If they want to work the refs, they are free to do so..." (@3:15)

... a good way to describe the 'blame-the-media' Republican talking point.

Jeez, I just watched this again and got a lot more out of it... this Obama character is very smart.

More RNC pre-emptive police raids and detaining journalists
I like that they remained calm, spoke with lawyers, etc.. Its very interesting that these police raids so clearly came down from orders on-high,... possibly from Republicans???

If only they were wearing business clothes, or even business casual, I think the images of professionals being detained would actually be more contrasting, more serious, and more appropriate.

"I just panicked a little" at RNC
I havn't personally seen any TV news coverage of these events at all. Anyone find anything from Minnesota local news teams?

I heard on NPR that hundreds of people were being arrested each night and released the next day, but thats it.
