This is a great video that shows some of the people behind the incredible Honda "Cog" that was one of the first Web 2.0 viral videos a few years back. This clip also shows some of the outtakes. Can you imagine the patience it must have taken to make that commercial?

I think the viral tag is getting over-used. Viral advertising starts on a social network while this was a TV advert that became popular online.

However, it can't be denied that this video was HUGE on teh internets! It was passed around like crazy, email to email, etc- the EFFECT was a viral spread, even if the intent wasn't there.

I may agree that some vids that don't belong in the viral channel end up there, but I would argue that this one clearly does.
